(Q) Can we choose which professional clubs and stadiums we visit?
(A) Yes. Because every TFE soccer tour is bespoke, you can tell us which professional clubs, stadiums and football experiences are most important to your group.
Popular choices include Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool, but your itinerary does not have to include all three. We can also explore other professional clubs and experiences depending on your dates, location and availability.
WHY WE DO IT THIS WAY
Different teams have different interests. There is little value in using valuable tour time on an experience your group is not particularly interested in. We would rather use that time for an additional match, training session, professional game, sightseeing or another experience your group really wants.

(Q) Can we request more matches and fewer stadium tours?
(A) Absolutely. The number of matches, training sessions, stadium visits and sightseeing activities can all be adjusted when we build your itinerary. If playing competitive football is your main priority, we can look at increasing the number of matches and reducing other activities accordingly.

Some teams want a football-heavy programme, while others want a broader balance of football, sightseeing and professional club experiences. There is no reason every team should follow the same formula.

(Q) What level of opposition will our team play?
(A) We arrange opposition based on your players’ age, gender and playing level, along with the information provided by your coaching staff. The aim is to provide competitive, enjoyable matches that challenge the players without creating obvious mismatches.
We will normally discuss your team’s standard with the organising coach before arranging fixtures.
WHY WE DO IT THIS WAY
Results are not the main purpose of the matches. Playing against unfamiliar English opposition gives players the opportunity to experience different styles, physical demands and decision-making challenges.
THE AIM IS APPROPRIATE COMPETITION AND A VALUABLE FOOTBALL EXPERIENCE.
(Q) Are the opposition teams professional academies?
(A) Not necessarily. Opposition can include grassroots clubs, community clubs, development teams and academy-level teams depending on your own team’s standard and the availability during your tour. We believe the most important factor is finding suitable opposition rather than simply attaching a well-known club name to the fixture.

A competitive match against appropriately matched opposition is far more valuable than arranging a fixture against a team simply because of the badge on their shirt.
THE RIGHT MATCH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE BIGGEST NAME.
(Q) Can girls’ teams travel with TFE?
(A) Yes. TFE organises tours for both boys’ and girls’ teams, and we can build the football programme around the appropriate age and playing level. Depending on your travel dates, we can also look at including women’s professional football within the itinerary.

The tour should reflect the interests and aspirations of the players travelling.
For girls’ teams in particular, watching the professional women’s game in England can be an excellent addition to the overall experience.

(Q) Can more than one team from our club travel together?
(A) Yes. Clubs can bring multiple teams within the same travelling group. Where possible, the teams can share hotels, transportation, sightseeing and professional football experiences while having their own matches and training arrangements. The exact programme will depend on the ages, genders and playing levels of the teams involved.

Travelling together can make the experience more affordable while creating a fantastic club-wide experience for players, coaches and families.

(Q) Can players and families extend their stay before or after the tour?
(A) Yes. Because international flights are arranged independently, families have the freedom to arrive earlier or remain in the UK or Europe after the official TFE programme has finished. Any additional accommodation, transportation or activities outside the agreed TFE itinerary would normally be arranged separately by the traveller.

Not including flights gives families much greater freedom to turn the soccer tour into part of a longer vacation if they wish.

(Q) Can individual travellers arrive or depart on different flights?
(A) We strongly recommend that the main group arrives and departs together. This makes airport transfers, hotel check-in and the start and finish of the itinerary considerably smoother. Individuals can make separate arrangements if necessary, but additional transfers or logistics outside the main group arrangements may need to be organised and paid for separately.

Moving a large group efficiently requires everyone to work to the same schedule wherever possible.

(Q) What happens if our group numbers change after we receive a quotation?
(A) We understand that traveller numbers can change during the planning process.
Your initial quotation will normally be based on an estimated group size. If the final number changes significantly, we may need to review the price because major costs such as private coach transportation and accommodation are shared across the travelling group.
We will always explain any change before additional commitments are made.

A private coach may cost almost the same whether 35 or 50 people are travelling, so the number of people sharing those costs affects the price per person.

(Q) Can someone join the group for only part of the tour?
(A) TFE tours are designed as one complete experience for the travelling group. People booked as part of the tour follow the same itinerary and package. Friends or family members who are not booked through TFE cannot simply join the private coach, activities or other tour arrangements on individual days.

Hotels, transportation, tickets and activities are booked around confirmed traveller numbers.
It also helps us maintain clear responsibility for who is travelling with the group at every stage of the itinerary.

(Q) Can you cater for dietary requirements?
(A) Yes. Hotels and other providers can normally accommodate common dietary requirements when we are informed in advance.
Because breakfast is generally the only meal included in the package, travellers also have greater freedom to choose restaurants and meals that suit their individual requirements during the day.
WHY WE DO IT THIS WAY
Leaving lunches and evening meals flexible gives players and families much more control over what they eat. Our preferred Manchester hotel is located next to the Trafford Centre, where groups have access to more than 60 dining options under one roof, providing plenty of choice for different tastes, budgets and dietary requirements.

(Q) Will we have free time during the tour?
(A) Yes. Although TFE tours include a full programme, we do not believe every minute of every day needs to be scheduled.
Where the itinerary allows, we can include free time for shopping, relaxing, exploring or simply spending time together as a group.

Players and families appreciate having occasional time to relax between matches, training sessions and activities.

(Q) What happens if a professional football fixture changes date or kick-off time?
(A) Professional football fixtures in England can be moved for television coverage, cup competitions and other scheduling reasons.
When this happens, we adjust the itinerary wherever possible so that the group can still attend the match while protecting the other important parts of the programme. This is particularly relevant when Premier League fixtures are included.

Flexibility is essential when professional football forms part of the itinerary. Because your tour is bespoke rather than fixed months in advance around a rigid programme, we have greater freedom to move activities when necessary.

(Q) What happens if one of our scheduled activities becomes unavailable?
(A) Occasionally, professional clubs, venues or other providers may change availability for reasons outside our control. If this happens, we will discuss the options with the organising coach and look for the most suitable alternative. Where possible, we will replace the activity with something of similar value and relevance to your group.

(Q) Do we need travel insurance?
(A) Yes. We strongly recommend that every traveller has appropriate travel insurance in place from the time they commit to the tour.
Your policy should provide suitable cover for areas such as medical treatment, cancellation, travel disruption and other circumstances relevant to international travel and participation in sporting activities. Travellers should check their own policy carefully to ensure it provides the cover they require.

International travel involves circumstances that neither your club nor TFE can always control. Appropriate insurance provides an important additional level of protection for individual travellers and families.

(A) The first step is simply to start a conversation. You do not need confirmed traveller numbers, flights or a finished itinerary. If you can give us an approximate number of players and travellers, the age and level of your team, your preferred travel period and an idea of what you would like to experience, we can begin discussing the possibilities.
